Limite

Locale coverage depends on the browser’s Intl data. Parsing strips commas; exotic formats may need cleanup.

When to use

Preview currency formatting for UI copy without calling a server.

When not to use

When you need live FX rates or accounting-grade rounding rules.

Privacy note

Amounts stay in the browser; formatting uses Intl.NumberFormat.

FAQ(5)

Which locales are supported?

Any locale your browser’s Intl.NumberFormat understands—for example zh-CN, en-US, de-DE, ja-JP, fr-FR, pt-BR. Availability depends on the browser.

Why JPY looks different?

Some currencies use zero fraction digits by convention; you can override the decimal places in the options.

How are commas handled?

Thousands separators (commas) are stripped before parsing the number.

Does it need a network?

No. Formatting uses the built-in Intl.NumberFormat API offline after the page loads.

Is my amount uploaded?

No. Formatting runs entirely in the browser.
